Blanka Bartok, Ph.D., a researcher at „Babes-Bolyai” University (UBB), has been selected by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to actively contribute to the preparation of reports concerning regional climate projections.
‘One of the members of the Babes-Bolyai University community has been selected by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to actively participate in drafting reports on regional climate projections. Blanka Bartok, Ph.D., a researcher at UBB, has been selected as a lead author for a key chapter, Projections of Regional Climate and Extremes,’ in the Seventh Assessment Report (AR7), within Working Group I, and will attend the first authors’ meeting to be held in Paris in December 2025,’ reads a UBB press release issued on Wednesday.
According to the UBB Rector, Professor Adrian Petrusel, Ph.D., this selection also recognises the university’s contributions to the climatology area.
‘We congratulate our colleague on her selection to this body, which represents international recognition of Dr Bartok’s scientific merits, a recognition of UBB’s valuable contributions to the area of climatology, as well as an opportunity to further strengthen high-level international collaboration,’ said UBB Rector, Professor Adrian Petrusel, Ph.D., as quoted in the release.
