Bilateral projects in energy, agriculture, irrigation, addressed by PM Ciuca, UAE Minister of the Environment Almheiri

Ongoing bilateral projects were addressed by Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, at the Victoria Palace, and Mariam Almheiri, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the United Arab Emirates and co-president of the Interministerial Commission Romania – United Arab Emirates, reads a press release from the Executive, according to Agerpres.

The meeting took place in the context of the visit that the Emirati official, accompanied by a delegation of company presidents and senior officials, is paying to Romania.

In this context, the prime minister mentioned the visit he made to the United Arab Emirates and the meeting he had with the Emirati President, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as the telephone discussion held afterwards, aimed at monitoring and evaluating the evolution of the agreed projects.

„Romania’s interest is aimed at a wide spectrum of topics and projects agreed with the Emirati side, which are in various stages of maturity. The parties’ alternative options aim to focus on the rapid promotion of mature projects and the advancement of the others at intervals of 3-4 months, in order to bring closer their fulfillment in the shortest possible time. Among the agreed priorities are the investments necessary for the development of the Port of Constanta in renewable energy production capacities, in agriculture, irrigation systems and the food industry,” the press release reads.

For her part, Minister Mariam Almheiri appreciated the personal involvement of Prime Minister Ciuca in monitoring these projects.

According to the press release, on the sidelines of this meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding on food security and the Memorandum of Understanding on environmental protection were signed.

The meeting was attended by Sorin Grindeanu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Bogdan Aurescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Virgil Popescu, Minister of Energy, Petre Daea, Minister of Agriculture, Tanczos Barna, Minister of the Environment, and other Romanian government officials.
