The National Political Bureau of the National Liberal Party (PNL) decided on Monday to organize an extraordinary congress, in the next 45 days, to elect a new, legitimate leadership.
„We are under an interim leadership that is the result of the bad result obtained by the PNL in last year’s presidential elections, when together with our colleagues we were nominated as interim PNL leadership. A party that is in government needs a leadership that has legitimacy, to adopt decisions, to assume public policies and, with this in mind, the Bureau approved the organization of an extraordinary congress in the next 45 days, so that there is a legitimate leadership, that can support from Parliament the policies that PNL conceives for Romania and to support public policies from the Government, in the interest of our country,” the PNL interim chairperson, Ilie Bolojan, announced after the BPN meeting, which took place at the Palace of Parliament.
