Border police officers on Tuesday seized goods worth about 7,000,000 lei for confiscation following checks at border crossing points across the country, write Agerpres.
The Border Police Inspectorate General (IGPR) informs that on Tuesday 99,680 people entered Romania through border crossing points, including 12,249 Ukrainian citizens. According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday, about 226,700 people, Romanian and foreign citizens, with about 57,600 means of transport, went through the border checkpoints throughout the country, both on entry and exit. As of 10 February 2022 (pre-conflict period), 4,632,059 Ukrainian citizens have entered Romania. In the areas of jurisdiction, crossing points and „green border,” the police found 69 illegal acts (31 offences and 38 contraventions) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens, and the amount of fines imposed amounted to 29,100 lei.
On Tuesday, 22 foreign citizens were not allowed to enter the country because they did not meet the conditions provided by the law and 20 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave the country for various legal reasons.
