Boris Pistorius to become Germany’s new defense minister

The interior minister of Lower Saxony, social democrat Boris Pistorius, is the future German defense minister, government sources told Reuters and AFP on Tuesday, according to Agerpres.

The information was confirmed by the Pioneer news portal and other German media. Christine Lambrecht resigned on Monday from the position of Minister of Defense, in the context of increasing pressure on the government in Berlin to deliver tanks to Ukraine.

The official appointment of Boris Pistorius as German Minister of Defense is expected during Tuesday.
