A number of 116 localities from 29 counties and Bucharest city were affected by the hydrometeorological phenomena in the last 24 hours, being preventively evacuated 6,014 people from 28 towns from the counties of Arges, Brasov, Galati and Vaslui.
According to the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), firefighters intervened to clear 79 trees and five electricity poles that had fallen on the roadway, damaging 14 vehicles and two buildings.
„Following the manifestation of the forecasted hydrometeorological phenomena, in the last 24 hours, effects were recorded in 116 localities from 29 counties – Arad, Arges, Bacau, Botosani, Braila, Brasov, Buzau, Calarasi, Cluj, Constanta, Covasna, Dambovita, Galati, Giurgiu, Hunedoara, Ialomita, Iasi, Ilfov, Neamt, Olt, Prahova, Salaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timis, Tulcea, Valcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and the municipality of Bucharest, where water from 11 houses, 16 yards, 6 cellars, 4 basements, 1 public institution, 1 economic operator warehouse and 12 streets was evaciated, as well as 79 trees and 5 electricity poles that fell on the roadway were cleared, 14 vehicles and 2 buildings being damaged,” DSU posted on its Facebook page.
6,014 people from 28 localities in Arges, Brasov, Galati and Vaslui counties were evacuated as a precaution. Most of them come from Galati county, where 5,937 people were relocated. Also, 60 people were evacuated in Vaslui county, six people in Brasov (Budila locality), 11 in Arges (Leresti locality), and another 684 people refused to be evacuated, the DSU said.
In this interval, a special situation took place in Covasna county, where the military firefighters intervened in Ghidfalau town to save 11 people (8 adults and 3 minors) who were stuck in their cars on a forest road.
At the same time, maritime and river traffic is suspended, and maneuvers in all ports in Constanta county and at Bara Sulina, in Tulcea county, are stopped due to unfavorable weather conditions, including strong winds.
At this moment, the situation at the national level is under control and no special situations are reported.
Weather warnings remain in force during Monday.
