Bucharest Municipality is going to conclude a protocol with the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, according to a decision approved in Thursday’s meeting of the Bucharest’s General Council, with 28 votes „in favour” and 17 abstentions, according to Agerpres.
The protocol aims at the joint financing and realization of actions and projects of public interest in tourism, improving the image and increasing the notoriety of Romania as a tourist destination „by promoting the national tourist brand and implicitly the Municipality of Bucharest as a city break tourist destination”.
The representatives of the ministry and those of the municipality will collaborate in order to establish mutual promotion actions. At the same time, the ministry will grant free of charge the right to use the brands „Romania explorati Gradina Carpatilor” and „Romania explore the Carpathian garden”, in order to promote our country as a tourist destination and for advertising purposes.
The ministry will also grant the Bucharest municipality the right to use audiovisual productions in Romanian and not only, from the categories of activities and adventure, city breaks, rural tourism.
According to the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics, in the first 11 months of 2019, approximately 1.9 million tourist arrivals were registered in the Capital. In Bucharest, in 2019, the most arrivals of foreign tourists staying in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions came from Israel (154,940), Italy (83,011), the United Kingdom (72,166), Germany (71,495), France (65,006).
