Bucharest City workforce exceeds 1.11 million at end-April 2025

There were 1,111,516 gainfully employed people in Bucharest City as of end-April 2025, up 12,514 people (plus 1.14%) year-on-year, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The average gross salary was, at the end of April 2025, RON 12,259 and the net salary was RON 7,343.

On the other hand, at the end of April 2025, 7,823 unemployed people were registered in Bucharest (minus 25.57%), and the unemployment rate stood at 0.6% (0.8% in April 2024).

As for state social security pensioners, at the end of Q1 2025 their number was 464,198, and the average pension was RON 3,538.
