The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Wednesday’s trading session higher, with turnover reaching 7.45 million lei (1.47 million euros) half an hour after the start of trading.
The main index, BET, which reflects the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, recorded an increase of 0.38%, while the BET-Plus index, which tracks the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, also rose by 0.36%.
At the same time, the extended blue-chip index BET-XT, comprising the 25 most liquid shares, gained 0.32%, and the BET-BK index – the reference index for investment funds – rose by 0.13%.
The BET-FI index, which includes the five Financial Investment Companies (SIFs), registered a slight increase of 0.33%, while the BET-NG index, which tracks the 10 companies in the energy and utilities sector, increased by 0.27%.
The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies from the AeRO market (the BVB’s alternative trading system), was up 0.35%.
According to BVB data, the biggest increases in share value were recorded by Turism, Hoteluri, Restaurante Marea Neagra (+12.84%), Condmag (+6.45%) and Teraplast (+1.48%).
On the other hand, the biggest declines were seen in shares of Grupul Industrial Electrocontact (-10%), Simtel Team (-4.53%) and Sinteza (-4.38%).
