Approximately 150–200 employees of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) are taking part in a spontaneous protest organized in Bucharest on Thursday, amid discontent over the new pay law, Mariana Manea, vice president of the National Federation of Finance Trade Unions Sed Lex, told AGERPRES.
According to her, employees from the General Directorate for the Administration of Large Taxpayers and the Ilfov Regional Directorate of Public Finance are participating in the protest.
‘Between 150 and 200 people are participating in the protest in Bucharest, from ANAF—the Large Taxpayers Administration Directorate and the Ilfov Directorate. We are all in the same building. We are not in our offices. We are protesting for our dignity, for our salaries. All our colleagues have come out. Those in the rest of the country didn’t come to work at all, and employees who aren’t unionized did what they thought was best. Some organized themselves one way, others another. Some came and stayed outside in the small park. ‘We want to draw attention to this,’ explained Mariana Manea.
She noted that employees who are not union members are also participating in this form of protest.
Also on Thursday, discussions regarding the draft of the new salary law are taking place at the Ministry of Labor, with the participation of union representatives from the central administration.
