The cap on commercial additives to basic foods will be extended, based on the dialogue within the Coalition, PSD deputy Marius Budai announced on Tuesday.
„The cap on commercial additives to basic foods will be extended! The common sense arguments expressed by PSD during the Coalition dialogue triumphed over petty political ambitions! Even if we are part of an inconvenient government, it is important to fight for what is in the interest of those who voted for us!”, wrote Marius Budai in a post on his Facebook page.
He emphasized that together with his colleagues from the PSD, he acted on all official and unofficial channels to achieve this important success for Romanians with low and medium incomes.
„It’s a good result for the citizens!”, Budai said.
A meeting of the governing coalition, lasting approximately four hours, is underway at Victoria Palace.
According to some political sources, the Coalition representatives decided to extend the cap on the commercial surcharge on basic foods for another six months.
Also on Tuesday, in the first part of the day, the leaders of the parties in the governing Coalition discussed at Cotroceni Palace with President Nicusor Dan.
