The execution of the general consolidated budget in January 2023 ended with a deficit of 0.25% of GDP, respectively 4.02 billion RON, on the background of higher VAT refunds by 59.8%, the slowdown in tobacco excise revenues, of a larger volume of settlements of goods and services for medicines, as well as of the increase in the volume of investments, informs the Ministry of Finance, according to Agerpres.
In January last year, the budget closed with a deficit of 1.69 billion RON, or 0.13% of GDP.
The budget for this year is built on a deficit of 4.4% of GDP.
