Central Electoral Bureau sets ballot paper candidate order

The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) announced in a release on Monday that, following the drawing, the order on the ballot papers of political parties, electoral and political alliances, organisations of citizens belonging to national minorities who submitted lists of candidates for the European Parliament elections and independent candidates was established, with the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) in first place.

According to BEC, the first position on the ballot paper will be occupied by the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania, the second position by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) National Liberal Party (PNL) Electoral Alliance, the third position by the Renewing the European Project of Romania Party (REPER), the fourth position by the Alliance for Romanians’ Union (AUR) Alliance, position 5 – Social Liberal Humanist Party, position 6 – United Right Alliance Saver Romanian Union (USR)- People’s Movement Party (PMP) – Right Force party, position 7 – Socialist Romania, position 8 – Great Romania Party, position 9 – Party of Patriots, position 10 – Right Alternative Party, position 11 – S. O.S. Romania, and position 12 – United Diaspora Party.

In addition, the independent candidates will be placed on positions 13, 14, 15 and 16 in the order of registration, namely Pirvanescu Paula-Marinela, Gheorghe Vlad-Dan, Stefanuta Nicolae-Bogdanel and Sosoaca Dumitru-Silvestru.

According to the source, the draw was made by the president of the Central Electoral Bureau, Judge Vasile Bicu.

On Monday, the Central Electoral Bureau published the list of the final candidates, 12 political parties and electoral alliances and 4 independents will participate in the European Parliament elections.
