Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu conveyed a message on Thursday expressing his deep sadness following the airplane crash in Washington and his compassion for all those affected by this tragedy.

„Extremely saddened by the news of the collision between a helicopter and a passenger plane in Washington. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this tragedy,” Marcel Ciolacu said on the X platform.

Nearly 20 bodies were pulled from the waters of the Potomac River on Thursday morning, according to US television, after a collision over Washington between an airliner carrying 64 people – including American and Russian skaters – and a military helicopter, AFP reports.
