Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Thursday that the implementation of the reforms under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) becomes the main criterion for assessing the activity of ministers, adding that „those who cannot keep up with the pace will pay, including with their position.”
Ciolacu said, at the beginning of a government meeting, that all the delays in the PNRR must be made up for.
„The priority of the last few days was to recalibrate the efforts to make up for all the delays in the PNRR. We agreed on the solution together with European experts, and meetings with reform coordinators follow in order to maximise the chances of completing each important investment in this programme,” said Ciolacu.
He added that he will not hesitate to take severe measures where there is no consistent progress in the coming months.
