The contract for the construction of the Oar-Satu Mare Expressway, which will also provide a connection to the border between Romania and Hungary, was signed on Tuesday with the company Constructii Erbasu, Director General of the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) Cristian Pistol announced on Tuesday.
„Today we signed the contract for the construction of the Oar-Satu Mare Expressway, which will also ensure a connection to the border between Romania and Hungary. The contractor (Constructii Erbasu) has at its disposal 720.48 million lei (excluding VAT) and 24 months to complete this new high-speed road, with a total length of 10.83 kilometres,” Cristian Pistol wrote on his Facebook page.
The contract for the execution works (FIDIC Red) is financed through the Transport Programme (TP) 2021-2027.
The Oar-Satu Mare Expressway, called „Somes Expres”, will have two lanes in each direction, and along the route, the project will also include two interchanges, two parking areas and a Maintenance and Control Centre (CIC).
According to the quoted source, this new expressway will start from the ring road of Satu Mare and will connect, near the border village of Oar, to Hungary’s M49 expressway.
