A total of 4,688,092 pensioners were registered in Romania in February 2026, 9,978 fewer compared with the previous month, with the average pension amounting to 2,780 lei, according to data compiled by the National House of Public Pensions (CNPP).

The total value of pension rights due reached 13.034 billion lei.

Of all pensioners, 526,868 had periods worked in agriculture, with an average pension of 718 lei.

According to the CNPP statistics, the number of people who retired at the standard retirement age was 3,783,636, of which 2,160,004 were women, while the average pension was 3,111 lei.

In February 2026, 64,429 people received early retirement pensions (average pension 2,530 lei) and 393,857 received disability pensions (average pension 1,089 lei), of which 45,924 were for grade I disability (average pension 952 lei).

In the same month, survivor’s pensions were granted to 446,078 people (average 1,506 lei), while 92 pensioners received social assistance (average 540 lei).
