CNS Cartel Alfa unionists protest at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace

Trade unionists of the National Trade Union Confederation Cartel Alfa are protesting on Friday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, this being the last action within the Anti-Poverty March, which started on October 17, according to Agerpres.

The president of the confederation, Bogdan Iuliu Hossu, said on Thursday that the CNS Cartel Alfa representatives will go to the Presidential Administration, „to remind the president” that as head of the Supreme Council for Country’s Defence (CSAT) „he has to declare a state of energy emergency”.

„Precisely in order to control energy prices for us citizens, but also for the economy, because otherwise the economy will have the effect, as we can already see, of shutting down enterprises, thus loss of jobs, which is unacceptable for their interest,” said Hossu.

On Thursday, CNS Cartel Alfa trade unionists protested in Victoriei Square (government headquarters) and Revolution Square, dissatisfied with the high energy prices, the non-application of the Pay Law and the blocking of collective negotiations.

The CNS Cartel Alfa protest kicked off on October 17 in the form of two caravans that started from the Ardeal (northwestern Zalau) and Moldova (northeastern Botosani) areas towards Bucharest, with protests organized in towns along the route where there are major risks of blocking some production activities and loss of jobs.
