USR chair Dominic Fritz said that the Save Romania Union will be „an honest partner” in the governing coalition.
He mentioned that there are „some things” that divide the parties that will be part of the future government, but that a consensus has been reached between these parties.
„USR is entering this coalition with the hope and desire to rebuild citizens’ trust in democratic institutions and rekindle Romania’s ambition to reach its potential. It is clear that in normal times, a coalition would probably not look the way it does today. We disagree on some things. But we have found consensus. In this crisis, we must resolutely combat extremism in Romania and bring this country out of crisis with firm decisions and structural reforms. Alongside Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, but also alongside the president, USR will be an honest partner, a responsible partner, and an open partner for society in this government,” said Dominic Fritz, on the occasion of signing the political agreement with PSD, PNL, UDMR, and the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities, with a view to forming the government.
