The National Weather Administration (ANM) issued on Friday a Code Orange advisory for severe atmospheric instability and significant quantities of water, valid until Saturday, at 12:00hrs in the western half of Oltenia, southern Banat, the Western Carpathians, northern Eastern Carpathians and western Southern Carpathians, write Agerpres.
In the areas targeted by the weather advisory, there will be torrential downpours, thunderstorms, short-lived wind intensities and isolated storms and hail. In short intervals or by accumulation, the quantities of water will be 30…40 l/sqm and isolated over 50 l/sqm.
The counties under the Code Orange are the following: Dolj (full), Gorj, Valcea, Timis, Hunedoara, Alba, Arad, Bihor, Cluj, Maramures, Bistrita-Nasaud, Mures, Suceava and Neamt (partial).
Furthermore, until Saturday noon, there is a Code Yellow advisory for atmospheric instability in Crisana, northern Banat, Maramures, most of Transylvania, north-western Moldavia and eastern Oltenia. It will manifest through rainfalls, electric discharges, short-term intensification of the wind and isolated storms and hail. In short intervals of time or through accumulation, the water quantities will be 20…25 l/sq m and isolated over 30…40 l/sq m.
According to the ANM, there will be short periods of atmospheric instability in the rest of the country and the weather will be generally unstable in the coming days.
