Code Yellow for heatwave in nine counties and in Bucharest, Tuesday and Wednesday

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued, on Tuesday, new Code Yellow warnings of heat wave, which target, in the next two days, areas of nine counties and the Municipality of Bucharest.

According to the specialist forecast, throughout Tuesday, in the counties of Calarasi, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Teleorman, Olt, Dolj, Mehedinti and in Bucharest, the heat wave will persist, and thermal discomfort will remain high, the temperature-humidity index (ITU) it will reach the critical threshold of 80 units and in some places it will be scorching hot.

Maximum temperatures, higher than normal at this time, will generally range between 34 – 35 Celsius degrees, and the night will be tropical, with minimums around 20 Celsius degrees.

Also, on Wednesday, June 26, the Code Yellow will extend to Banat, where the ITU will reach the critical threshold of 80 units. Maximum temperatures will oscillate between 34 and 35 degrees, while at night there will be a minimum of 20 degrees.

The counties covered by the second Yellow Code warning are: Calarasi, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Teleorman, Olt, Dolj, Mehedinti, Caras-Severin, Timis, as well as in the Municipality of Bucharest.
