Committee on Justice Laws issues favorable reports on three drafts to be debated by Senate

Published on

The Parliamentary Committee on the Justice Laws passed on Monday the favorable reports for the three drafts regarding the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), the judicial organisation and the judges’ and prosecutors’ statute, according to Agerpres.

The draft laws are to be debated by the Senate’s plenary meeting, which is the decision-making body in this case.

Leader of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) parliamentary group Claudiu Tarziu blamed the MPs of the special committee for hastening „very much” the vote on the Justice Laws and called on their „conscience” to vote in accordance with the national interest.

„You speeded up very much the vote on these laws which are fundamental from all points of view, both in terms of preserving our sovereignty, as a country, and regarding a fair, impartial Justice, not controlled politically or by the secret services. If you continue to vote like this, you take on the responsibility until the end and don’t you hide, you from the PSD [the Social Democratic Party] or others, after uncertain votes, after false statements, etc. (…). I call on your conscience, to vote in accordance with the national interest, not as someone outsiders asked you or as the information services pressure you to do. (…) You simply vote like machines, you don’t have a shred of conscience to dwell on it,” Tarziu argued.
