The „Peppers” robotics team from the „Grigore Moisil” Computer Science High School in Iasi won the 2nd place in the „Motivated” section of the FIRST World Championship Houston 2023 robotics competition, event held between April 19 and 22, write Agerpres.

More than 190 teams of students passionate about robotics from 23 countries participated in the competition. Four of the 192 teams represented Romania.

„Everyone’s contribution is important and valuable. We are grateful that thanks to them we manage to set the tone for innovations in the STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in Iasi, and it is also thanks to them and their enthusiasm that we can do robotics in schools in Romania. Their openness, dedication, work, perseverance, involvement in community development, FIRST values, the acuity of their sparkling minds give me joy every day and the hope that we can build something for the future in education. (…) They have always given us confidence that in education we can always be closer to the development needs of our students, to cultivate their passions,” said the master of the „Grigore Moisil” Computer Science High School in Iasi, Adina Romanescu.

And the other three teams of Romanian students were awarded at the FIRST World Championship Houston 2023.
