Constanta customs officers confiscate sports shoes worth over 16 million RON

The customs officers from Constanta Sud confiscated approximately 7,000 pairs of sports shoes likely to be counterfeit, worth over 16 million RON, informs the Romanian Customs Authority, in a pres release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

„Customs inspectors from the South Constanta Border Customs Office seized approximately 7,000 pairs of sports shoes likely to be counterfeit. The footwear has a total value of approximately 16,000,000 RON and was discovered as a result of the physical control carried out on the goods in – a container arrived from China, belonging to a commercial company based in Ukraine,” the press release reads.

According to the cited source, counterfeit goods present risks that endanger the health and safety of citizens.
