Although the temptation of discouragement often stalks us, both because of spiritual trials and the evil around us, conflicts, violence, violations of human dignity and freedom, the Holy Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord strengthens our faith and animates us with that hope that no one and nothing can destroy it, says cardinal Lucian, archbishop and metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Alba Iulia and Fagaras, major archbishop of the Romanian Church United with Rome, Greek-Catholic, in the Pastoral addressed to the Greek-Catholic believers.
Lucian also says that the creativity of reason and technical progress, including Artificial Intelligence, should be ethically used to humanize and change society and the world in which we live for the better.
He adds that Pope Francis emphasized the seriousness of the situation in which we find ourselves and proposed ways of peace and prayer for „the people of Palestine, of Israel, of Ukraine and of many other places where there is war”.
The high Greek-Catholic hierarch also talks about the value of life and the dignity of every person.
„It is appropriate, therefore, to ethically use all our energies and capacities, the creativity of reason and technical progress, including Artificial Intelligence, to humanize and change for the better the society and the world in which we live, our common Home,” he adds.
