President Klaus Iohannis declared that the accounts he received show that the firefighters who responded to the Crevedia LPG blasts acted „correctly and bravely”, write Agerpres.
„From all the reports and from all the discussions, it emerged that the firefighters acted correctly and bravely,” President Iohannis said on Tuesday after visiting the injured of the blasts, who are treated at the Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital.
As regards allegations about the firemen having substandard protective equipment, Iohannis said that the Emergency Management Inspectorate must provide explanations.
„All the reports that I received show that the response action was carried out correctly, and as far as the photos of the equipment are concerned, I have heard divided opinions. Allow me to leave this matter and its clarification to the experts, specifically with the Emergency Management Inspectorate,” said the head of state.
