Margareta and Radu arrived in Rome on Sunday, being welcomed at the Fiumicino Airport by the Romanian Ambassador in Rome Gabriela Dancau, and by the ad interim charge d’affaires of the Romanian Embassy with the Vatican, Adina Lovin.

The official schedule of the visit begins today, with Radu meeting officials of Invictus Italia at the Centro Alti Studi per la Difesa in Rome. The discussions will focus on the Paralympic sports activity in general and its promotion to fully integrate disabled personnel.

Also at Centro Alti Studi per la Difesa, the two will meet the management and have a conversation with students.

The schedule also includes visits to the Sovereign Order of Malta, the Italian Red Cross, the Italian Paralympic Committee and the Italian Olympic Committee, as well as viewing some exhibits about the Royal Family of Romania at the Pietro Canonica Museum.

There is also a meeting with the Romanian community of Italy and the release of an Italian edition of Queen Marie’s diaries edited and printed by Rediviva Milano Publishing House.

An important item on the schedule is a private audience with the Pope, followed by visits to the Bambino Gesu Pediatric Hospital of the Holy See, a centre receiving female refugees from Ukraine and to the headquarters of the Sant’Egidio Community.
