President Nicusor Dan convened a meeting of the Supreme Council for National Defence (CSAT), which will take place at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Thursday, the main topic of the meeting being the security of the national airspace.

According to the Presidential Administration, the agenda of the meeting includes topics related to setting objectives that require protection measures against threats specific to unmanned aerial systems, as well as general technical requirements for equipment and technical systems for implementing protection measures.

Additionally, the issue of determining the individuals who have the authority to order or approve the execution of measures against aircraft and aerial vehicles that use the national airspace without authorisation will be discussed, along with the procedure for informing about certain measures taken to control the use of the national airspace.

The Council meeting will also address other current topics in the area of national security.
