MoBU 2024 is the kind of project supporting contemporary art for which the Ministry of Culture must be a „constant and consistent partner,” Culture Minister Raluca Turcan told the opening of the second edition of the largest contemporary art fair in Central and Eastern Europe in Bucharest on Wednesday.

Turcan expressed her concern for the way in which the state can support contemporary artists and mentioned in this context the programmes for the acquisition of contemporary art works through the National Museum of Contemporary Art, the Brukenthal Museum in Sibiu and the Palace of Culture in Iasi, as well as other projects such as the RAD Contemporary Art Fair, SCAF International Contemporary Art Festival in Sibiu.

„I believe that this microclimate among creators, public funders and, why not, the state, where or when it is needed, should be a constant year after year,” added the Culture minister.
