The action of the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), carried out together with the Romanian Police and with the support of the Romanian Gendarmerie and the Border Police, took place under the „D Day” name.

According to a press release from DIICOT, sent to AGERPRES on Friday, as a result of the searches carried out, in order to obtain evidence on the illegal activity of organized crime groups and other persons involved in crimes associated with organized crime, more than 9.2 kilograms of high-risk and high-risk drugs were seized, plus seven non-lethal weapons, mobile phones, PC drives, laptops and other data storage media.

Also, approximately 58,500 pyrotechnic articles and 165,000 smuggled cigarettes, 3.3 kilograms of gold jewelry and six luxury watches were confiscated.

Following the administration of evidence, the prosecutors of the Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation Directorate ordered the detention of 103 defendants and the measure of judicial control against 38 defendants.

Until now, judges of rights and liberties have ordered the preventive custody of 65 defendants and the house arrest of two others, and the courts will decide on all the proposals made, stated DIICOT.
