Defence Ministry: Romanian Air Force transports aids to Libya

One C-130 Hercules aircraft of the Romanian Air Force took off, on Saturday morning, from the 90 Air Transport Base „Comandor aviator Gheorghe Banciulescu,” destined for Benghazi, Libya, to transport the first tranche of aid which Romania sends as free international assistance to this country, affected by catastrophic floods, write Agerpres.

According to a press release sent by the Ministry of National Defence to AGERPRES, the Air Force has planned six flights on this route, in which a total of 55 tonnes of goods will be transported, consisting of food products and shelter items.

The flights are carried out through the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union, at the request of the Department for Emergency Situations, based on the Decision of the National Committee for Emergency Situations 32/2023.
