DefMin Mosteanu attends meeting of EU defence ministers; talks on military support for Ukraine

Published on

National Defence Minister Ionut Mosteanu is attending on Thursday and Friday the informal meeting of defence ministers of the EU member states, which takes place in Denmark, Copenhagen, with discussions focusing on strengthening the military support provided to Ukraine.

According to a National Defence Ministry (MApN) release, the ministers will also analyse the developments within the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM).

„The meeting provides an opportunity to exchange views regarding the implementation of the White Paper for the 2030 European Defence and the Readiness 2030 plan. The defence ministers will also discuss about the adaptation of operational commitments within the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) to the new geopolitical context and current security threats,” the quoted source mentioned.

The MApN underscored that the participation of Minister Mosteanu in the Copenhagen meeting reaffirms Romania’s commitment to actively contribute to strengthening European security and to continue the firm support of Ukraine. AGERPRES
