DefMin Mosteanu discusses with EIB representatives opportunities for cooperation in defense industry

The Minister of National Defense, Ionut Mosteanu, met on Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense (MApN), with representatives of the European Investment Bank to discuss cooperation opportunities in the field of defense industry.

The discussions were attended by Robert de Groot, Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), and Ioannis Tsakiris, EIB Vice President, responsible for Romania.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Defense sent to AGERPRES, the EIB representatives presented concrete possibilities for collaboration, by developing partnerships and expanding the eligibility criteria for investment projects in this strategic sector.

The European Investment Bank is an independent financial institution, which autonomously establishes its decisions regarding the contracting of loans and granting credits, depending on the project and the opportunities on the financial markets. Within the European Union, the EIB pursues the financing priorities established at European level, and outside the EU it supports development and cooperation policies in various countries of the world, the MApN press release also informs.
