Romania has reached a degree of filling of its natural gas reserves of 96.53%, according to data as of September 4, the amount of stored gas being 177.7 million cubic meters more than last year, which means that „we are well prepared for the cold season”, Energy minister Sebastian Burduja announced on Friday.
„A piece of new good news on winter preparations! The degree of filling of natural gas reserves stands at 96.53%, as of September 4, 2024. This ensures that we are well prepared for the cold season and that we have the necessary resources to efficiently manage energy demand, including to provide support to other countries in need, such as the Republic of Moldova. Compared to last year, the amount of stored gas is 177.7 million cubic meters higher, which reflects the efforts of the Ministry of Energy to ensure stability in the energy system in such a turbulent period,” Burduja wrote on his Facebook page.
The Energy minister emphasised that „clear measures and concrete plans to cope with the demands in the coming period” were discussed at the recent Winter Command.
„Our main objective is to prepare in advance, so that every Romanian has access to energy without interruptions, regardless of weather conditions or volume of consumption. With almost full storage and a well-structured plan for the winter, we are ready to deal with any situation that may arise,” underscored the Energy minister.
