Department for Romanians Abroad starts camp programme for Romanian students, young people abroad

The Department for Romanians Abroad (DRP) is strating today the 15th edition of the „ARC” camp programme, which is expected to attract approximately 6,500 participants, Romanian children and young people from abroad along with companions, teachers and volunteers from Romania and abroad.

According to a DRP press release, this year’s camps will take place simultaneously, in consecutive series of seven days, one Tuesday to another, between July and September, in the following locations: Sangeorz – Bai Leisure Centre, Bistrita-Nasaud County; Codrii de Arama – Agafton Leisure Centre, Botosani County; Poiana Pinului Leisure Centre, Buzau County; Caprioara Leisure Centre, Hunedoara County; Caraiman Monastery, Prahova County; Oglinzi Leisure Centre, Neamt County; Galaciuc Leisure Centre, Vrancea County.

For a week, children and young people will participate in a series of cultural, educational and sports activities organized at the camps, and together with facilitators and volunteers they are given the opportunity to discover a part of Romania and improve their communication skills in Romanian.

The 15th edition of the „ARC” camp programme is organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities, with support of the from county youth and sports directorates and the Romanian Patriarchate. The program is dedicated to promoting the Romanian national consciousness among young Romanians abroad and to developing a close relationship with the country.
