Deputies’ Chamber Speaker Ciolacu, meeting with Italian counterpart Lorenzo Fontana: Italy remains an important commercial partner for Romania

Published on

Deputies’ Chamber Speaker Marcel Ciolacu had a meeting, in Rome, with Italian counterpart Lorenzo Fontana. They discussed different topics, including the cooperation between Romania and Italy within the European Union and NATO.

„I talked today with my Italian counterpart, Lorenzo Fontana, about the challenges at European level that we can only overcome together.

Whether we’re talking about the impact of inflation on people’s incomes or the economic situation complicated by the war in Ukraine, solutions must focus on balancing national economies.

Italy remains for Romania an important trade partner and a major source of investments that generate jobs for Romanians.

During the meeting, I thanked the president of the Italian Chamber of Deputies for the constant support shown by Italy for the reception of Romania in the Schengen Area, but also for the advancement of the OECD accession process”, Marcel Ciolacu wrote on Facebook after the meeting.
