Deputies held moment of silence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II

The deputies held a moment of silence, in the plenary sitting, in memory of Queen Elizabeth II, whose funeral took place on Monday, according to Agerpres.

„Considering the fact that today is the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, please let’s hold a moment of silence in her memory,” proposed deputy Andi Grosaru.

At the same time, Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) deputy Ringo Damureanu proposed a moment of silence in memory of the „simple people” who died and for the victims of incurable diseases.

„With deep regret, I tell you that last week I buried my mother. (…) I would propose to you for all the common people: our parents and grandparents who contributed to our formation and the generations that raised Romania, but also for the victims of incurable diseases for which the health system has not yet found solutions and who left us to keep a moment of silence,” said Damureanu.

Liberal Gabriel Andronache drew attention to the fact that the regulations stipulate that these moments should be proposed by the group leaders.

„I have a great request that we respect the regulations and that this type of moments be proposed by the group leaders. I think that the solemnity of such moments can be respected to the extent that these matters are discussed in advance and proposed by a group leader,” stated Andronache, leader of the liberal deputies.
