Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration Cseke Attila said on Thursday in Sebes that by the end of the year, the number of nurseries completed under the ‘Sfanta Ana’ government programme will reach approximately 60.

‘In total, there are 241 nurseries included in this government programme, of which 35 have been completed, and by the end of the year, several dozen more will be finalised. A total of 137 are still under construction, and the rest have contractors but are in the design phase,’ said Cseke Attila.

The minister added that, with certainty, by the end of this year, ‘we will reach somewhere around 60 completed nurseries’ under the ‘Sfanta Ana’ government programme.

‘We have a target under the National Resilience and Recovery Programme of 110 nurseries that must be completed and handed over by the end of August 2026, and there is a good outlook for this, but the programme will also continue with national funding,’ Cseke Attila said.

He mentioned that in Alba County, six nurseries have been built through this government programme with European funds, the first of which was inaugurated on Thursday in the city of Sebes, and one more is under construction with national funding.

The most advanced are those in Aiud and Abrud, and others are under construction in Alba Iulia, Blaj and Zlatna.

The new nursery in Sebes, the fourth to be put into use in the city over the past three years, has a capacity of at least 40 places. The value of the funding obtained by the municipality from the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration is 11.8 million lei. The building will be energy-efficient and will include all facilities required by legal regulations: playrooms, dormitories, an on-site laundry, kitchen, large multi-purpose room, medical office and administrative spaces.
