The chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Nicolae Ciuca, says that he left the way open for dialogue with the Save Romania Union (USR) leader, Elena Lasconi, but he doesn’t think that anything else can happen.

„Until now, I haven’t received any signal, nor do I think it can happen something again, because we have already seen the candidate posters for the presidential elections a long time ago. As such, if we do not manage to put together a common effort for a common project… Every time the situation is volatile and, of course, in politics almost anything can happen,” Ciuca declared for TVR Info, on Wednesday.

Asked if Elena Lasconi proposed a collaboration option, he pointed out that it was not possible to complete the scenarios and added that those who carry out the „sanitization” are the citizens, thus referring to a statement by the chairman of USR regarding the sanitation of the PNL.

„We didn’t manage to finalize the scenarios, we discussed, after that there were those recommendations and this kind of thing doesn’t happen publicly. When it comes to sanitization, I don’t think that sanitization can be done between the parties. The ones who do the sanitization are the citizens when they go to the vote,” the PNL leader explained.
