Dispute on Twitter between Musk and Zelensky over a „peace plan” proposed by the billionaire

Published on

American billionaire Elon Musk asked Twitter users on Monday for their opinions on a plan to end Russia’s war in Ukraine, which was immediately condemned by Ukrainians, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, Reuters reported on Tuesday, according to Agerpres.

„Which @elonmusk do you like more?” Zelensky asked in a post on Twitter, offering two answers: the one who supports Ukraine or the one who supports Russia.

Musk, the richest person in the world, proposed a survey on a possible peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia, based on four principles.

The first principle calls for UN-supervised elections in four occupied Ukrainian regions that Moscow annexed last week after what it called referendums. The votes were denounced by Kyiv and Western governments as illegal and coercive. „Russia leaves if that is will of the people,” Musk wrote.

According to the second principle, the chief executive of Tesla Inc suggested that the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014, should be officially recognized as part of Russia, the third principle would be that the water supply of Crimea should be secured and, finally, according to the fourth principle, Ukraine should remain neutral. He asked Twitter users to vote „yes” or „no” on this four-point plan.
