Dozens of migrants from Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Pakistan, found at the border hiding in three trucks

Published on

Dozens of migrants from Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Pakistan were caught by the border police from Arad, in the last 24 hours, when they were trying to leave the country hidden in three trucks that were going to countries in the Schengen Area, write Agerpres.

At the Nadlac II Border Crossing Point (PTF), while two trucks driven by a Romanian and a Turk were being checked, 40 migrants were discovered. The first driver was transporting auto parts to Germany, and the second was going to Hungary without cargo.

„The persons were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the sector for research, where, following checks, the border police established that there are 34 citizens from Bangladesh and six citizens from Pakistan, who entered Romania legally,” the Arad Border Police informed on Wednesday.

The truck driven by the Turk was impounded at the headquarters of the Arad Border Police because it had set up a special compartment for hiding migrants, behind a false wall. Also, at PTF Varsand, in a truck registered in Bulgaria, driven by a Bulgarian who was transporting auto parts to Germany, five migrants from Ethiopia and Pakistan were found. The three drivers are under criminal investigation for migrant trafficking.
