Dr. Faustus theater-concert show, a creation of the #artefactum Musical/Theatrical Introspection Laboratory inspired by the works of Thomas Mann and Leonard Bernstein, opens the ‘Nocturnalia inside 2023’ season of the Timisoara-based Arte-Factum independent theater company on May 15, at the Franciscan Studio, starting at 8:00 p.m., a release informs, write Agerpres.
„We live in a time when the rules of the ‘new world’ and the need for art, theater, music have an ambiguous, fluid relationship,” said Levente Kocsárdi, who composed the music, directs and also performs in the show.
‘Dr. Faustus theater-concert’ is an evolving musical project conceived in the Arte-Factum Theater/Musical Introspection Laboratory, which features new scores at each edition.
Performing in the May 15 show are Levente Kocsárdi, Alexandra Mahu (voice, flute), Georgi Radulescu (violin), and Maksay Csaba Zsolt (cello).
The project is part of the national cultural program Timisoara – 2023 European Capital of Culture and is financed through the Inside Timisoara 2023 program run by the Timisoara Project Center, with budget allocations from the Ministry of Culture.
The next performance of the Dr. Faustus theater-concert show, with Victor Geru on the violin, is scheduled for May 25, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Franciscan Studio, as part of the 14th edition of the TESZT Euroregional Theatre Festival. The show will be performed in Romanian, with English and Hungarian subtitles.
