EC and EP presidents mourn the death of the Ukrainian interior minister

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, mourn the death of the Ukrainian interior minister.

„Heartbroken with devastating news of helicopter crash next to kindergarten in Brovary near Kyiv. My thoughts are with families & loved ones of Ukraine’s Internal Affairs Minister Denys Monastyrskyi and those killed in this terrible tragedy, including children”, Roberta Metsola wrote on Twitter.

„We join Ukraine in grief following the tragic helicopter accident in Brovary Minister Denys Monastyrsky was a great friend of the EU. We share our deepest condolences with the families of the victims, President Zelensky, Ukraine PM Denys_Shmyhal and the people of Ukraine”, Charles Michel wrote on Twitter.

At least 16 people, including the Ukrainian interior minister and two children, died on Wednesday after a helicopter crashed near Kyiv, Ukrainian police announced, AFP and Reuters inform, Agerpres reads.
