Education Ministry, Concordia Humanitarian Organisation conclude protocol on youth from disadvantaged backgrounds

The Ministry of Education on Friday concluded a collaboration protocol with the Concordia Humanitarian Organisation to support the program „Here everyone counts!”, under which young people from disadvantaged backgrounds qualify for specialist internships, financial education, vocational counselling, remedial education, personal group development workshops, hot meals, subsidies, support groups, and social assistance.

„In 2023, almost 5,000 people benefited from this organisation’s programmes. Over 230 are students from high schools in Prahova County who participated in courses and internships in the kitchen, pastry, bakery and catering. Also, 161 institutionalised children or coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, participated in educational, counselling and personal development activities at the day centres supported by the organisation,” Education Minister Ligia Deca wrote on Friday in a social media post.

She said that she supports programmes that meet the needs of vulnerable young people, as only that way way can they be supported to continue and complete their studies.

Under the „Here everyone counts!” Programme initiated by the Concordia Humanitarian Organisation, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds benefit from specialized internships, financial education, vocational counselling, remedial education (writing, reading, mathematics – basic notions), personal development workshops, hot meals, subsidies, support groups, social assistance, individual psychological counselling and social counselling.
