EduMin Deca: All salaries in education to be increased, no salary decrease

Published on

Education Minister Ligia Deca stressed on Friday that all education salaries will be increased, write Agerpres.

„At the proposal of the unions’ representatives, through Government Emergency Ordinance 53/2023, we guarantee an increase of 1,000 RON gross per month for teaching and auxiliary teaching staff and 400 ROn gross per month for non-teaching staff. As a message: all salaries in education are rising, there is no salary decrease”, Deca told a press conference at the Ministry of Education.

Ligia Deca said she would provide „details and examples” in this regard to clarify „certain confusions” and „other pieces of information that are not true” and that appeared on Thursday in the public space.

„A first such piece of information was related to the advisory opinion of the Legislative Council. If you consult this opinion, you will see that the opinion of the Legislative Council was favourable. Moreover, the phrase ‘unconstitutional’ is not mentioned anywhere in the content of the advisory opinion. There are a number of observations, as is only natural. The emergency ordinance followed the legislative path, had the CES [the Economic and Social Council] advisory opinion, had the advisory opinion of the Legislative Council, and was adopted yesterday, on Children’s Day, precisely to give a signal about the appreciation we have for the teachers who take care of our children and guide them every day at school,” said Deca.
