Romania is consolidating its role as a regional energy leader by developing safe energy through the future’s nuclear technology – Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and through the Neptun Deep project, Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday, after the meeting with US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.
„Today I met with my US counterpart, Secretary of Energy Chris Wright. It was the first high-level meeting with the new administration in Washington. We talked about how Romania is consolidating its role as a regional energy leader by developing safe energy production through SMR, we are bringing the nuclear technology of the future to the country, through Neptune Deep, we are capitalizing on the resources from the Black Sea through balance and pragmatism, we are transforming Romania into an energy exporter,” the Romanian official mentioned.
Ivan added that the appreciation of the US partners confirms Romania’s direction: energy security, well-paid jobs and lower energy prices for Romanians, all with a clear objective – ensuring energy security on the Eastern Flank of Europe. AGERPRES
