The new „Rabla for tractors” (tractor scrappage scheme) programme will have a budget of 500 million RON and will finance the purchase of agricultural machinery with up to 80% of the total purchase value, Environment, Water and Forestry Minister Mircea Fechet told a press conference on Thursday.
„Through the „Rabla for tractors” programme we aim to support agricultural producers who work in primary agricultural production for the purchase of tractors and self-propelled agricultural machinery, including agricultural accessories, new and, of course, less polluting. We are talking about smaller tractors, smaller capacities,” said Fechet.
The official mentioned, at the same time, that the amount of support granted to beneficiaries varies between 65% and 80% of the total value of the tractor purchased.
The President of the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM), Laurentiu-Adrian Neculaescu, added that the „Rabla for Tractors” programme will operate and will be carried out according to the „Rabla” (car scrappage scheme) model.
„The farmer who has a manufacturer’s certificate, so we are not talking about forms of legal organisation, will buy a used vehicle or an older tractor and will receive a voucher. He will go to the dealer, buy a tractor and a tractor-related equipment up to a maximum value of 55,000 EUR. The dealer will submit the statement to the Administration of the Environment Fund,” said the AFM representative.
