Negrescu: I continue to fight for Romania’s innovation economy, which has a high added value, representing 6% of GDP, to become influential at European level
The PSD MEP stated that Eastern Europe has enormous potential in the digital field, but unfortunately the European common market remains fragmented and many barriers persist between member states.
„Even if we have examples of success, it is still difficult for Romanian digital companies to have access to a direct contract with an authority from another EU member state or with the European institutions,” wrote Victor Negrescu on Facebook.
He proposed four key measures at the event organized by the CEE Digital Coalition, which was also attended by the European Commission’s director-general responsible, namely:
- Fair treatment of all companies participating in public tenders and removing unjustified barriers between member states;
- easier access to intellectual property rights, cutting red tape and tackling monopolies on certifications;
- reform of the European capital and financial system to allow easier access to low-cost finance;
- real involvement of companies in implementing trade agreements.
