The European Commission has approved another 126 million lei in non-reimbursable funds from the Sustainable Development Program 2021-2027 for the heating system in Bucharest, and the total value of the contract will reach 1.76 billion lei, announced the interim mayor of Bucharest, Stelian Bujduveanu.

„Excellent news for the heating system in Bucharest! The European Commission has approved another 126 million lei in non-reimbursable funds from the Sustainable Development Program 2021-2027. I will sign the additional document together with the Ministry of Investments and European Projects. The total value of the contract now reaches 1.76 billion lei,” Stelian Bujduveanu wrote on Facebook on Monday.

He explained that for Bucharest residents it means reducing heat losses, increasing system efficiency, as well as improved thermal comfort in apartments.

Stelian Bujduveanu added that this is the largest investment in the heating network in recent decades, so that „heating problems in Bucharest become history”.
