The practical training base of the Romanian Center for the Training and Improvement of Naval Transport Personnel – CERONAV was opened, being a project that completes the series of investment works worth approximately 6 million euros, CERONAV informs in a press release, according to Agerpres.
The practical training facilities that will be created will ensure the quality, security and safety standards of the activities that will be performed on board the river vessels, by the graduates of the training programs organized by the specialized center.
„The investment goal, which includes a training ground and a practical training base, is part of the CERONAV infrastructure development strategy, regarding the training activity in the inland waterways sector. It is the first center in the European Union fully equipped with facilities compliant with training, both for theoretical and practical training. CERONAV offers river navigation personnel training at the highest standards,” said Ovidiu Sorin Cupsa, general director of CERONAV and IMO maritime ambassador.
The southeastern Galati practical training base, with the specific facilities necessary to carry out the practical applications within the courses organized by CERONAV, is necessary in order to comply with the legal requirements of the European Union.
Also, practical training, as well as specific practical training facilities, are imposed by the European Commission through Directive 2017/2397 for the recognition of professional qualifications in the field of inland navigation and the CESNI standards of professional skills – ES-QIN, adopted by delegated act and which are integral part of this Directive.
The training programs organized by the Romanian Center for the Training and Improvement of Naval Transport Personnel comply with all the standards of professional competence imposed by the regulatory bodies in the field, states the quoted source.
